The Perfect Gift Shop
The yard sale was a success. With the money raised and the donations received, we should have the funds for 2021 operations. Our success was because of the hard work by the volunteers that setup and ran the indoor yard sale, the generous people that donated items to sell, and the Moose Lodge for providing the space (and buying lots of things.)We are grateful for all and appreciate that we can share the joy of giving with the children of Floyd again this year. Items that did not sell are being donated to Floyd County Humane Society, Children’s Christmas Fund, and Pulaski Animal Services. We have retained some furniture items to sell on Craigslist and have taken some items to be used in the Shop this year. We had several people that came in to donate or to shop tell us how much the shopping and giving experience meant to children they know. There were several touching stories that let’s us know that "sharing the joy of giving" is making a difference. The total funds raised was $3,246. Thank you for your support. See MoreSee Less

Flyers were handed out this morning at the Farmers market today and were well received. We have about 75% of early donations packed for the move to the Moose Lodge Monday evening at 6. We will finish the remaining tomorrow. All is well and on schedule with packing and the move. Help and donations will be needed Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday to receive donations, unpack and price at the Moose Lodge. Stop in anytime you can from 8 to 6. We still need several cashiers for the yard sale on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Let Jean Woods or Karen Baker know if you can help. Message either of us your preference on times. See MoreSee Less

The Perfect Gift Shop Yard Sale August 27th, 28th, and 29th at the Moose Lodge in FloydThe Perfect Gift Shop (TPGS) will have a Yard Sale on August 27th, 28th, and 29th at the Moose Lodge in Floyd Virginia to raise funds for 2021 operations. In 2020, the gift shop redeemed gift certificates totaling $8,400 in value for 336 shoppers that bought an average of 6 gifts each. In 2021, the Shop will be in the Floyd Baptist Church Anex building. The Perfect Gift Shop is a not for Profit, all volunteer organization founded in Floyd, Virginia in 2017 and operated each year since. They provide a shopping experience for children and developmentally disabled adults during the Holiday Season in December each year. The joy of the Holidays is not only receiving gifts but also being able to give gifts. There are many great organizations that work to see that children receive gifts during the Holidays. The Perfect Gift Shop was created to provide the “joy of giving” to children that might not otherwise be able to give. Children learn the joy of selecting gifts for others and thinking of others. They are empowered by the experience. Donations of items for the yard sale may be dropped off at the Moose Lodge August 24th, 25th, and 26th, from 8am to 6pm. TPGS Volunteers can also pick up items from your location. Items donated that are not sold will be donated to other Floyd non-profits or put in the Shop for the 2021 season. To volunteer to help sort and price, to help operate the Yard Sale, or for donation pickup, contact Jean Woods at 540-449-4220 or Karen Baker at 864-423-5618 by text or phone.
